RPGDot has posted a preview of Summoner, based on the recently released demo. Because the demo don't look much good, so they decided to give their comments to Adam Pletcher, the art director of Volition, creators of Summoner, to find out if they “missed” anything. "I did not have a lot of fun actually. I went through the complete demo because it was short, otherwise I would have dropped it probably. Even though the graphics are great (although boring sometimes). The combat was too easy, the AI was dumb and the interaction was too low. The demo only features on combat and I hope the game is more than that. I did not detect a story in the demo, but that might be because the demo is not long enough for that."
RPGDot: Nasty thing is that only the 640x480 mode was supported. I hope that the real game supports higher modes.
Adam: The full version supports 800x600 and 1024x768 as well. We kept it to one mode to keep the download size smaller. It's an RPG, so we didn't feel offering a multitude of resolutions was that crucial for the demo. Some people might disagree, but that's what we went with.
