I'm back to Cat 3.9s' after eagerly installing Cat 4.3s' and firing up Far Cry. 30 seconds from the main title screen: ***** BOOM - SYSTEM RESTART ***** I have had some dropouts to windows with critical exceptions errors using 3.9 but at least my system wasn't restarting itself. P.s. Anyone else experiencing these problems with Far Cry :( ? ASUS A7V-333 AMD ATHLON XP2000+ 1024MB Kingston PC-2700 RAM ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (128MB) SB Audigy ENERMAX 450 Watt power supply

After installing 4.3 I got a strange bug in call of duty. I couldn`t reload my gun with the key I had designated. Went back to my previous 4.2 drivers with no problems.

Comments from ohnoposted - 08:30 PM CET - Mar,11 2004
we need more posts with 4.3 drivers bug reports. damn good laughs.

Comments from :Dposted - 08:35 PM CET - Mar,11 2004
Cat 3.10 is still the best Ati driver. Poor nvidia, too bad they let those old Voodoo fags design their cards. :D

Comments from FaceItATIposted - 09:24 PM CET - Mar,11 2004
never noticed the poor performance or windows problems while playing Homeworld 2.. oh wait that's right I have a crappy old Geforce 2 ;P

Comments from Tomposted - 09:48 PM CET - Mar,11 2004
Don't you love ATI users, oblivious to the already known and defiant they own crap quality cards. Performance over quality and stability..woo, want a good laugh, put this link in ur browser graphic used by Rage3d http://www.ati.com/images/headers/products/software/CATALYST.jpg and have a good laugh. If I remember correctly, people were buying Voodoo over ATI period right??? ATI wasn't even a contender so :D is a retard n00b.

Comments from :Dposted - 10:22 PM CET - Mar,11 2004
Tom, don't get stuck in the past. 04 now, wake up. Even nvidia was a noob in the "voodoo days". then voodoo started making big ugly shitty cards and lost it all...sound familar? huh? and then they got bought out by nvidia. do your homework noob and get up to date. cheers :D

Comments from daddoposted - 12:32 AM CET - Mar,12 2004
looks like i'm going to get my money afterall

Comments from xxxxposted - 02:47 AM CET - Mar,12 2004
nvidia made a shitty card? which one? seem all pretty good to me. as a matter of fact some people still hold cards from the 3dfx time and still play halflife(how many play hl?). ati was on a rebound and they have faster framespersecond cards, but fps isn't everything. there's quality, reliability and longevity. sorry nvidia rules in all areas and has 'always' been rock solid. :D ur just like your email all blah.

Comments from :Dposted - 03:26 AM CET - Mar,12 2004
Halflife.....who cares, cs is for high school jack offs (you?). nvidia is reliable in the fact that all games will look and play "ok / average" at best. Turn on all the eye candy and it will choke. Ati can handle it without a hiccup. If there is a problem with a certain game, Ati addresses it quickly. Ati has already won, not an issue, it's just a question of how long nvidia can hold it's breath. look for nvidia to be sold by this time next year. perhaps aol wants a video card company.......lol. cheers <>

Comments from nvidiots lmaoposted - 03:29 AM CET - Mar,12 2004
who the hell cares about your shitty nvidia products?? This topic is about a new ati driver release. fps isn't everything, yea :) just fire up a dx9 appl and your nvidia vga is left in the dust. There's quality :DD Tell me about nv quality over ati's. U can't :)

Comments from Nukeposted - 07:50 AM CET - Mar,12 2004
Now who the fuck gives a Rats fuck about nvedia??? ATI is the best!!!! when ever there is a game that is optimized for ATI it got 0.0000 lag and when ever there is a game optimized for nVedia.... well you take a gess.

Holy activity on this post. Nuke, can you tell me "1" game that is optimized for ATI? or has 'best played with ATI?', I'll save ya the time. None. You ATI idiots are so dumb, you walk up and down here saying your card rocks, but yet go to rage3d and read catalyst discussions. All I see is people sick and tired of driver problems. I don't see anything of the same for nvidia. I agree with XXXX. That's right on the nose, "quality, reliability and longevity" nobody even challenged that. Instead just lying, guess thats what ATI users have to do now. [my last post here, I rather leave it with the ATI users above me actual mature as usual], to FX5900 dude, ya my friend has had it with his 9800 and is presently posting it on company forsale newsgroups, he's going back to nvidia, he's tired of playing driver games and talking for nothing with ATI for fixes. And he was like these other ATI zealots, not anymore.

"can you tell me "1" game that is optimized for ATI?" dude I'm not even gona bother wrighting what games have been optimized for ATI, I'm just gona say thes 4 words: MAY GOD HELP YOU!!!

You cant decide the greatness of a company with one generation of products. Just think of last year as a round.Nvidia kinda messed up with their FX series at first (5800, anybody?) and the 5200 64bit is Laughable. Also, Shame on Nvidia for trying to wreck ATI's XT name. They've introduced a product called '5600XT' which is a Lowered Clocked 5600, which isnt the sharpest tool in the shed already. . ATi, IMO won the round big with the it's 9800 Series, wheter it be the 9800PRO or XT, those cards are amazing. Right now currently I have a 9800 non pro,and I love it. but I will be upgrading when the next gen of Video cards come out. Oh, and im not a fanboy either, I just get which video card performs the best, I couldn't care less who makes it....some people do though, and it dissapoints me.

Give credit where credit is due. ATI's 9700pro kicked ass, and yes they r on top at the moment, but u can bet that nVidia will comw back with vengence (maybe 3rd time lucky). Its just great to see the 2 leaders slog it out. COMPETITION IS GOOD. makes things interesting and gives us a broader perspective :)

I'm having nothing but trouble with my ATI Radeon 9500 Pro at the moment... Everytime I run UT2004, UT2003, Hitman 2, C&C Generals or anything my system has a fit and then crashes!!!!! Goddamn!!!
