The biggest change for Max Payne 2 is the inclusion of the Havok physics engine, which make for a highly interactive enviroment. In a couple of test demo maps, we saw Max shoot a character with different weapons like grenades, shotguns and machine guns and saw the character fall differently every time. Another test level had Max shoot barrels, wall painting and other objects with different effects each time. Max and the rest of the game's characters have all gotten a new look for the sequel as well, with Rockstar reps saying the character models have four times the detail compared to the original. There are also facial expressions and lip-synched mouth movements for Max Payne 2's characters as well.
