Line Of Sight:Vietnam Interview - interview
|
| (hx) 10:27 AM CEST - Jun,04 2003 |
Urban Informer
let us know they have posted
an interview with Jason Zisk of nFusion Interactive as he talks about their
latest title -
Line of Sight: Vietnam. The interview goes into detail about the start, and
of the series plans for the future. This is a great read for any fan of the
Deadly Dozen Series, and for those who like to know a little bit more about the
people behind the games. Here is a taster:
SJ: Was there something that you think could have been done better or was there anything left out of LOSV because of time restraints or budget restraints that to this day makes your cringe? Woops, I did it again. I said LOSV instead of LOS. A tough habit to break.
JZ: For LOS we originally planned on having 20 small missions. It instead turned into 12 medium-sized missions when we realized there wasn't enough time for the original 20 missions. I personally prefer missions that take half an hour to an hour to complete and more of them, rather than these huge nerve-wracking marathons we have in there now. At the beginning of beta the 12 missions were still small-sized, so we got a lot of complains like "I can beat the game in 4 hours!" and "This mission only took me 10 minutes!" We added objectives onto many of the missions, and expanded the play areas to increase the play time.

| Comments from Lard Ass | posted - 08:36 PM CEST - Jun,04 2003 | | this game is better than VIETWANG in GFX & WEAPONS, however LOS has RIDICULOS camoflauge its almost impossible 2 spot a CHARLIE in the jungle terrain until he is under your feet and thats little 2 l8 | |
| Comments from Tom | posted - 02:52 PM CEST - Jun,05 2003 | | Dude, you obviously didn't play it long and I obviously played it longer or at least understood it better than you. In the distance in your view, bushes disappear but yes as you approach your target the bushes begin filling in again. This is design. | |

Multiplayer is where the game really shines. I think it is a pretty good game considering the budget price. | |

| Comments from Tom | posted - 06:40 PM CEST - Jun,06 2003 | | Dude, LOS has WAY BETTER gfx than Vietcong. But both games are based on different things. Vietcong has got maybe 5% better graphics than halflife. One thing that truely turned me off of Vietcong was playing in realism mode and no crosshair. Nearly all servers run with no crosshair and you always have to stop, zoom and shoot. BORING! I sold it nearly the week after I bought it. Then there's the bush campers caming in their own spawn, yehaww. Ya great fun. =/ | |

I haven't ran into any camping beyond what's the norm in every other multiplayer shooter either. I don't play deathmatch though because of the random respawns though where people pop up a foot away from your without warning. | | The old comment system has been replaced. Use the regular FORUMS!
