  • Mandrake Linux 9.0 distro for Xbox now available - The Xbox Linux Project has released the first full Linux distribution for the Xbox, a single CD version of Mandrake 9.0, available here. The Project has already produced various howtos and tools for the installation of SuSE and Debian on the Xbox (you'll still need a modded one, of course), but the Mandrake distribution is intended to simplify matters and, presumably, to broaden the user base.
  • Intel redesigning the Pentium 4 - Code-named Nehalem, the chip will embody a new architecture that will substantially differ from the current Pentium 4, according to sources. Concepts in the current chip line will be found in Nehalem, but it will contain new, and largely unknown, features such as improved power management that will mark it as a distinct evolutionary step, similar to the changeover from the Pentium II to the Pentium III.

  • Intel I845GE Chipset Review - With DDR-333 and 400 being more suited to Intel platforms than AMD, it is a wonder why Intel has taken so long to introduce its own DDR-333 offering, now it seems the time is right, DDR-333 modules are more mature and ready for Intel's quality testing procedures. Intel now introduces to us the I845EP and I845GE chipsets. Let's have a look at them now

Definitely check it out, they tested 22 different Detonator driver sets from 27.00 through to the latest build 40.72.

  • Unreal 2003 - Locks up on some systems - possible fixes -  There's a few methods that were written by the authors take a read here.

  • DirectX 9 Beta 3  - Seems  that DirectX 9 Beta 3 has been released to Beta Testers. Do not install the DirectX 9.0 beta on a machine that you need run the shader debugger for DirectX 8.1 code. There is a known issue in Beta 3 that prevents correct operation on DirectX 8.1 shaders. This will be fixed in the near future.

  • Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility 4.20.1006 - The Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility installs specific Windows INF files. The INF files inform the operating system how to properly configure the chipset for specific functionality, such as AGP, USB, Core PCI, and ISA PnP services.
