  • Keanu Tapped for Superman's New 'Excellent Adventure'? - According to FoxNews.com, Keanu Reeves, star of Warner Bros.'s very successful The Matrix has been tapped by director Brett Ratner, to play the Man of Steel in Superman: Last Son of Krypton. Jeffrey Abrams, who wrote the feature Regarding Henry and invented TV's "Felicity" series, wrote the final, accepted script.

  • Massive credit card heist suspected - A Los Angeles-based Internet company said that 140,000 fake credit card charges, worth $5.07 each, were processed through its transaction system Thursday, in a computer scam that may have affected as many as 25 companies. The apparent fraud suggests that a computer criminal may have obtained a sizable list of stolen credit card numbers and was testing them for validity, credit card fraud expert Dan Clements said.
  • Security vulnerabilities persist after IE 6 patch  -  The patch release, known as "Service Pack 1" was posted Monday on Microsoft's Web site and contains fixes for more than 300 issues with Internet Explorer 6, which was first released with the Windows XP operating system in October of 2001. Despite the fixes, however, security experts warn that significant vulnerabilities remain even after applying the patch.

  • Nevada May Legalize Marijuana - A measure on the ballot November 5 would make Nevada the first state to allow adults to possess marijuana -- up to 3 ounces, enough for maybe 100 joints.  People over 21 would be allowed to smoke it in their homes but not in cars or public places. Pot would be sold in state-licensed smoke shops and taxed like cigarettes.
