  • Fake XBox Emulator Gets A Stinging Update - Like an earlier version of the hoax, the program, uploaded to three Angelfire.com Web sites on May 12, does not deliver on its promise to give users the ability to turn their PCs into XBox consoles. Instead, the Trojan, a file called EMU_xbox.exe, installs a small "dialer" program named StealthXP.exe, according to an analysis by Newsbytes.
  • Deceptive Duo Suspects Netted In FBI Raids -  Teenager Robert Lyttle, notorious more than a year ago as the pro-Napster hacker Pimpshiz, has been linked to another round of high-profile Web-site defacements following FBI raids targeting a pair known as the Deceptive Duo.
  • Pentagon hires anti-terror sniffer bees - The Pentagon is all a-buzz about recruiting networked bees to sniff out bombs. The US government is hoping to use the wired up insects to sniff out minute residues of explosives and lead them to bomb factories and landmines. Each bee will carry a tiny wireless transmitter which can be tracked using a wireless connection to an army laptop computer. The bees are trained to think that TNT contains sugar so that they make a beeline for it.
  • Feds Out-Hack Russian Hackers - With the help of some new computer spying software, FBI agents were able to out-hack a pair of Russian hackers who had stolen thousands of credit card numbers and broken into Web sites like Pay Pal, the leading online bill payer, and online auctioneer eBay.
  • Napster Bankrupt? - Napster's chief executive resigned Tuesday, after founders of the troubled song-swap company refused to be bought out by the German media conglomerate Bertelsmann AG. Further cost-cutting moves were also announced. The company is rapidly running out of cash and may soon file for bankruptcy protection, according to a source close to Napster who spoke on condition of anonymity.
