- Gigabit Ethernet board maximizes PICMG 2.16 spec - Performance
Technologies Inc. has taken the PICMG 2.16 standard to new heights with the rollout of a
switch board that provides the highest bandwidth and density available on a product that
meets the PICMG 2.16 standard for packet-switched backplane systems. The IPnexus
CPC6400 board supports 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports, enough to fully populate a
CompactPCI 2.16 system running at maximum bandwidth. The 6U CPC6400 supports 24 nodes
including 19 slots, two switches and additional ports on the back of the chassis. Thus a
fully populated system using the board has a theoretical maximum bandwidth greater than 40 Gbits/s.
- Setting standards for removable drives - A group of Japanese

- Unlocking your Thunderbird based Athlon/Duron CPU Guide - The
Pencil Trick is used to unlock the CPU's multiplier; I guess you could say this
effectively 'unlocks the full potential of the CPU'. Say if you take a 1GHz (100x10) CPU
and raise the FSB to 133 and the default multiplier is 10, that's 133 multiplied by 10.
That gives you the new CPU speed of 1.33GHz. If you tried this style of overclock with
your Athlon or Duron, it would be likely to run unstable and crash. By implementing the
pencil trick you can change the multiplier from 10 to higher settings, such as 11.5,
allowing you to take the FSB to a stable and standard level such as the default 100MHz and
still have a
nice overclock.
- IE6 + XP Exploit - SAVE YOUR WORK before you going to try this link!! A few people have
become little upset over their computer logging them off. However, dont blame me, blame
Microsoft. Out of 9000 hits only one person complained. (thanks Yog_Sothoth).
- IE, Outlook run malicious commands without scripting - An attacker can run
arbitrary commands on Windows machines with a simple bit of HTML, an Israeli security
researcher has
demonstrated. The exploit will work with IE, Outlook and OutlooK Express even if
active scripting and ActiveX are disabled in the browser security settings.
The problem here is data binding, an old 'feature' going back to IE4 in which a data source
object (DSO) is bound to HTML.
- Java Applet Can Redirect Browser Traffic - The version of the
Microsoft VM that ships with Internet Explorer version 4.x and 5.x contains a flaw affecting how Java requests for proxy resources are
handled. A malicious Java applet could exploit this flaw to re-direct web traffic once it
has left the proxy server to a destination of the attackers choice.
