Reddit Gamer Scores 2TB SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD at Walmart for $78.19 - tech|
| (hx) 12:05 PM CET - Nov,05 2026 |
A Reddit user on r/pcmasterrace bought a 2TB SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD at Walmart for $78.19 after a $60.81 discount. The 1TB version of the same drive was selling for $60 at the same store.
The buyer plans to replace an old 500GB drive and use the new SSD only for installing and running PC games. The post sparked discussion because the SanDisk Extreme series has a history of sudden failures and data loss reported by users in 2023.
Commenters advised keeping backups. The buyer said the warranty and the fact that no important files will be stored on the drive make the risk acceptable. Some users also talked about opening the enclosure to use the internal board, though the buyer has not done so. |
