RX 9070 XT Beats RTX 5070 at Same $950 Price in 2026 Tests - tech|
| (hx) 11:05 AM CET - Nov,05 2026 | A new 15-game benchmark shows the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT delivering stronger raw performance than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 at 1440p, even when both cards sell for about $950.
The test used a Ryzen 7 9800X3D system and ran modern titles with DLSS 4 and FSR 4.1 upscaling enabled, measuring average and 1% low frame rates.
The RX 9070 XT’s higher raw power and 16 GB of VRAM often outweighed NVIDIA’s upscaling edge in the suite, which included Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 6, and several 2026 releases.
Independent outlets have reported similar results, with the Radeon card leading by roughly 20% or more in broad raster averages while offering better long-term VRAM headroom.
Street prices for both cards have climbed well above their original MSRPs, making the direct comparison more relevant than their original positioning. The findings reinforce that AMD’s RDNA 4 flagship currently offers more frames per dollar in most 1440p gaming scenarios.
