The system uses two NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPUs, an Intel Xeon W9-3495X CPU, and a SilverStone Alta T1 super-tower case with heavy liquid cooling. Linus cites problems with cloud AI such as downtime, monthly subscriptions, and privacy concerns as the reason for the project.
The finished machine, named Sventlana, runs local models through LM Studio and Hermes for tasks like coding and home automation. The build includes a 3000W power supply and large amounts of RAM to handle demanding local workloads.
