AMD Brings FSR 4.1 to Old Radeon Cards Early - tech|
| (hx) 12:04 PM CET - Oct,25 2026 | AMD has released FSR 4.1 upscaling for Radeon RX 6000 series cards (RDNA 2) in the latest driver, months ahead of the expected 2027 date. Hardware Unboxed tested it on an RX 6950 XT and found large frame rate gains over native rendering in games like Cyberpunk 2077. In performance mode the card ran more than twice as fast, though the boost is a bit smaller than on newer RDNA 4 cards. Image quality is a clear step up from FSR 3.1, with sharper details, less blur, and fewer artifacts. The INT8 version made for older cards looks almost the same as the full version on newer hardware. RDNA 2 owners finally get a modern upscaler that makes older cards feel much more capable in demanding games.
