P.T. PC Port Developer Steps Back After Harassment and Death Threats - briefly|
| (hx) 11:12 AM CEST - Oct,22 2026 | The developer behind the free native PC port of P.T. is stepping back from active work after releasing version 1.0.8.
21-year-old Lorean Xavier said the project became overwhelming once it gained major attention. He reported facing harassment, accusations, and even death threats from some users.
Xavier has been building the open-source port since 2024. It rebuilds the original game logic in C++ and requires players to supply their own dumped PS4 game files.
He said he remains proud of the work but wants to focus more on his personal life. After 1.0.8 he may still push occasional fixes, but regular development is ending.
The port is available on GitHub and does not include any Konami assets. Hideo Kojima previously acknowledged the project.
