Elon Musk Warns China Will Flood the RAM Market by 2028 - tech|
| (hx) 09:55 AM CEST - Oct,15 2026 | | Elon Musk said China will be making a lot of RAM in 2028. He was responding to a South Korean financial column that warned of possible memory oversupply in 2029 once new capacity comes online. The column argued that Korea has only two to three years to develop new growth industries before the cycle could reverse. Chinese DRAM maker CXMT is expanding capacity and is expected to approach or exceed current levels of major competitors by 2028, according to multiple industry reports. Musk’s comment highlights the risk that rising Chinese production could eventually pressure memory prices. No official Chinese production targets for 2028 have been confirmed beyond current expansion plans.

Ask yourself though: being a proud american or a decent european: Would you really buy some crappy Chinese RAM with potential security holes?
I know I would not.
Not that I need to buy any because Microsoft killing Windows gaming paves the way to Linux, which eats far less memory than any Windows, so, in practice, it will breathe extra life into your PC.
| doodah | (10:55 PM CEST - Oct,15 2026 ) | What security holes can RAM have?!
If it works at the speeds it's supposed to and at a reasonable price, it's a thumbs up from me 8)
