Jailbroken PS5 Runs Multiple Console Emulators - briefly

(hx) 11:46 AM CEST - Oct,14 2026

A jailbroken PlayStation 5 can now run homebrew emulator ports for several older consoles. On systems with firmware 7.00 to 13.60 using the Relapse exploit, users can install native PS5 apps such as PS5SX2 for PlayStation 2 games, XPSemu for original Xbox titles, and ProsperoEden for some Nintendo Switch games. RetroArch cores also bring GameCube, Wii, PSP, and other systems to the console. Most of these projects are still in early alpha stages, with performance and game compatibility that vary widely. The emulators run as homebrew applications on the PS5 rather than executing the original console code natively. Claims that a jailbroken PS5 runs nearly every major platform at higher resolutions and frame rates go beyond what current public builds reliably deliver.

Jailbroken PS5 is doing something insane in 2026. A fully unlocked PS5 is now running games from almost every major console natively: PSP, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5 - Nintendo : Wii, Wii U, GameCube, Switch. - Xbox Xbox Original, Xbox 360, Xbox One. - DualSense support, PC game streaming, and even a full media server. All running at higher resolutions 4K/120 FPS upscaling and framerates, than the original hardware, with DualSense haptics. The most ironic part? Sony’s own console became the best multi-platform machine thanks to modder,
