BlackBox Teases a PS5 Homebrew Store - briefly|
| (hx) 09:17 PM CEST - Oct,05 2026 |
A PlayStation homebrew account has teased a new in-console store that is not out yet.
On October 4, @BlackBoxPS posted a photo of a TV running an app labeled BLACKBOX, tagged #PS5 #PS4 #Homebrew, with the line “New store coming soon.” The screen lists commercial games such as Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto V, and God of War Ragnarök as PKG files, many over 80 GB, with USA region tags and Turkish menu buttons.
A later video the same day called it an early preview of the store app and again said it is coming soon. That clip drew millions of views. Sony has not announced or endorsed the project, and the posts give no release date.
The UI is a teaser, not a live shop. The titles on screen are commercial games, so copies offered outside official stores would sit outside Sony’s and the publishers’ licenses. |
