German Utility Sells a Gamer Power Plan - briefly|
| (HX) 06:23 PM CEST - Oct,04 2026 | A German utility is selling electricity with gamer branding. SWK Energie, the Krefeld city utility, offers a tariff called meinGAMING for homes that use a lot of power.
The company says it pays off above 2,500 kilowatt-hours a year, from gaming, streaming, or just many devices running. The monthly base fee is higher than usual. The price per kilowatt-hour is lower. It does not put special power in the socket or raise frame rates.
SWK says the supply is 100 percent renewable, backed by TÜV Nord certificates and European hydropower. Rates change by postcode, so a household still has to compare its own bill. Contracts run 12 or 24 months. |
