AM5 Crash Fix: Turn Off Memory Context Restore - tech|
| (hx) 03:10 PM CEST - Sep,30 2026 | XDA writer Ty Sherback says random lockups and Tarkov crashes on his 7800X3D stopped after he disabled Memory Context Restore. That BIOS toggle stores the last good DDR5 training so AM5 boards skip the long retraining and boot faster.
His box ran two matching Crucial DDR5-6000 kits - four sticks at 6000 - which is past AMD’s official 7800X3D cap of DDR5-5200 with two DIMMs and DDR5-3600 with four.
Memory tests had passed; turning MCR off added about 30 seconds to a cold boot. This is one user’s 4-DIMM EXPO case, not an AMD recall. If four sticks crash and tests look clean, MCR is a knob worth trying before you cut the speed.
