Microsoft opened the Windows 11 2026 Update, version 26H2, on September 29 for PCs already on 24H2 or 25H2. Those machines get it as enablement package KB5121794 - a small download and one restart, not a full rebuild. The package turns on features already sitting dormant from monthly updates and resets support to 24 months for Home/Pro and 36 months for Enterprise/Education. Rollout is phased; flip “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” to join early. IT can push it through Autopatch and existing rings. This is not a Microsoft 365 breach story - it is a version bump.
