Microsoft Pauses KB5002907 After Office Licenses Break - tech|
| (hx) 10:54 PM CEST - Sep,26 2026 | Microsoft has paused optional update KB5002907 after some PCs lost a working Office license.
The patch was meant only for Microsoft 365 Apps that were more than 90 days out of date on Current Channel or Monthly Enterprise Channel.
Microsoft now says some Office 2016 and Office 2019 installs showed unexpected results after the update ran.
In some cases Office looks unlicensed and must be reactivated; in rare cases the product is removed and must be reinstalled.
A Microsoft spokesperson told BleepingComputer the company is aware of the reports and paused the rollout while it investigates.
Users who already installed it should use Microsoft’s reactivation or reinstall pages, not another unofficial “fix” tool. |
