Steam Refunds 35 euro Buy After Same-Day Sale - briefly|
| (hx) 12:57 PM CEST - Sep,24 2026 | A player shared a Steam Support ticket showing they bought a game for €35, then saw it drop 75% to €8 the same day. They already had about five hours of playtime, past Steam’s usual two-hour automatic refund limit.
They asked a human agent to review the case instead of the automated system. On 21 September, agent Vinny wrote that the purchase was removed as a customer-service gesture and the €35 was added as Steam Wallet credit so the game could be bought again at the sale price.
Valve’s published policy still uses 14 days and under two hours for automatic refunds, but it also says requests outside those rules will be looked at. Steam does not refund only the price difference; the documented path is a full refund, then a repurchase at the current sale price.
