Meta Unveils 100g VR Glasses for $1,299 - briefly|
| (hx) 09:49 AM CEST - Sep,24 2026 | Meta announced Meta VR Glasses at Connect on September 23, 2026. The glasses weigh about 100 grams and move compute, battery, and storage into a pocket puck on an optical tether.
They use dual micro-OLED displays that Meta calls a 5K Infinite Display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite chip, and eye plus hand tracking, so controllers are not required in the box. The US price is $1,299.99, and Meta says they go on sale in spring 2027.
The puck holds 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, lasts up to three hours of high-resolution media playback, and can show a USB-C DisplayPort source as a big virtual screen. Quest apps and games carry over on the same OS, while specialist coverage puts the field of view at about 70 degrees horizontal, narrower than Quest 3.
