Xbox Cuts 268 Jobs, Hands Halo to Activision - console|

Xbox is cutting 268 jobs and moving several of its biggest studios under new bosses.
Chief content officer Matt Booty said the cuts hit Halo Studios, other first-party teams, and Xbox Game Studios management, and that the July reset is now about three-quarters done.
Activision will take Rare and World’s Edge, and a new Activision team kept apart from Call of Duty will make the next Halo game.
A small group at Halo Studios will keep supporting the community and games already on sale.
Bethesda will absorb Obsidian, which keeps working on Grounded and a new Fallout project with Bethesda Game Studios.
King will take Microsoft Casual Games, and Playground Games will merge with Turn 10 into one studio for Forza and Fable.
Two deals to sell Ninja Theory fell through, so Xbox is starting talks on a possible closure while it looks for another path.
Talks about Arkane’s future run through the end of 2026.
Undead Labs is already independent and still plans to ship State of Decay 3 on Game Pass day one.
