Microsoft Ships Emergency Fix for Broken RDS - tech|
| (hx) 12:23 AM CEST - Sep,15 2026 | Microsoft released out-of-band Windows updates on 14 September 2026 after September Patch Tuesday made Remote Desktop Services unstable. On affected PCs and servers, RDP can fail after a few minutes, sign-in can break, and hosts can hang on "Please wait for the Remote Desktop Configuration".

These are reliability fixes, not a new CVE. Same packages also cover some Hyper-V shared-folder and USB audio fallout from the September security updates.
If you already applied the Group Policy workaround, Microsoft says you can still install the OOB.
