DLSS 5 Looks Better - Costs Half Your FPS - tech|
| (hx) 02:05 PM CEST - Sep,12 2026 | NVIDIA's DLSS 5 is live in NBA 2K27 on GeForce RTX 50-series cards, adding a 3D-guided neural render pass that restyles lighting and materials after the engine draws the frame.
The company itself says turning that pass on costs about 50 to 60 percent of raw GPU performance. Hardware Unboxed’s independent 4K test on an RTX 5090 measured 192 FPS without the feature and 76 FPS with it when frame generation was left off.
Their new image-quality analysis finds real gains on faces and arenas, plus motion artifacts and object mismatches the filter does not fix. DLSS 5 is optional in 2K27 and can be toggled with F9; NVIDIA’s 370 FPS headline number includes Super Resolution and Multi Frame Generation, not the neural pass alone.
