Activision Takes Cheat Fight to an Ohio Doorstep - briefly|
| (hx) 10:06 PM CEST - Aug,28 2026 | Call of Duty’s RICOCHET team said it is now targeting cheat makers and sellers in the real world, not just banning players in-game. During last weekend’s Modern Warfare 4 Early Access Beta, Activision said a representative went to Ohio and delivered a cease-and-desist demand in a visit it described as a takedown of Elocarry.
The company also said it has disrupted more than 375 cheat reseller operations, served more than 80 cease-and-desist demands, shut down more than 30 vendors, and is prepared to sue when needed. It reported that the first beta weekend saw lower cheat infection rates, hardware bans that were harder to dodge, faster action, and new detections. Weekend 2 of the open beta starts today, with the full game due October 23. PC players must enable TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to play.
