Sony is currently emailing PlayStation users a copy of its Terms of Service.
The terms confirm that digital games are licenses only, not owned purchases.
If an account is closed or banned, access to paid digital games can be lost.
Sony’s liability for most issues is capped at £100 or unused wallet funds.
The company also retains broad rights over user clips and collected data such as IP addresses.
These rules have been in place and were last substantially updated in April 2026.
