Johnny Depp in Talks for Pirates 6 - briefly

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed at D23 that talks are underway with Johnny Depp for *Pirates of the Caribbean 6*.

“We’re talking with Johnny, we’re working on a screenplay, and hopefully we can get this done,” Bruckheimer told Deadline.

A screenplay is currently in development for the next film in the long-running franchise.

The last entry, *Dead Men Tell No Tales*, was released in 2017.

No deal has been finalized yet.

Bruckheimer’s comments mark the clearest recent update on Depp’s potential return as Captain Jack Sparrow.
