Apple Warns Users in 110 Countries of Mercenary Spyware Attacks - tech

Apple has sent a new round of threat notifications to users it believes may have been targeted by mercenary spyware.

The alerts reached people in 110 countries and appear directly on the iPhone lock screen as well as in Settings.

The notifications warn of sophisticated spyware typically used by governments, similar to tools like Pegasus.

Apple recommends enabling Lockdown Mode and seeking expert help, such as from Access Now’s Digital Security Helpline.

Receiving the alert means Apple detected possible targeting, not necessarily a successful infection.
