Used RTX 4090 Beats Expensive 5090 - tech
(hx) 09:58 AM CEST - Aug,09 2026
GameGPU recommends buying a used RTX 4090 for around $1,100 instead of a new RTX 5090.

According to their tests, the RTX 4090 is only about 35% slower than the flagship RTX 5090.

They note that new RTX 5090 cards currently cost between $5,500 and $7,500, while used ones sit around $2,300.

The site argues that the 4090’s performance combined with 2x frame generation is more than enough for most users.

Higher frame generation on the 5090 does not make up for the massive price difference because base frame rates are not boosted enough.

GameGPU concludes the used 4090 remains the smarter purchase while new high-end cards stay scarce and expensive.

Of course it does. 5090s are rate-limited so they don't catch fire.
You know, Nvidia did not really advance technology at all.
They just keep jamming more and more of the same on the same board, and now that they reached their limit they can only make money in DCs because nobody cares about heat and power in DCs - some idiot will always pay for it.

lol
A 3060Ti is enough for most users.
Ever wondered why Nvidia resurrected those?

I still have a 3070 RTX 8GB, and it's enough for me....

3060Ti, which is almost the same - all good!

In this day and age of scammers. I wouldn’t buy a secondhand GPU ever!

End up with a kilo of washing up powder, like that Indian guy
