Motherboard Prices Set to Climb in Q3 - tech|
| (hx) 07:45 PM CEST - Aug,05 2026 |
ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI are reportedly preparing another round of motherboard price increases for the third quarter of 2026.
Supply-chain reports from Board Channels say the cost of PCBs used in consumer motherboards is expected to rise by at least 50% this year, driven by higher material prices and strong AI-related demand.
Copper, surface-mount capacitors, power-delivery components and controller chips are also getting more expensive, while weaker DIY PC demand and falling board shipments leave manufacturers with fewer units to spread fixed costs across.
None of the three brands has publicly confirmed the exact size or timing of the increases yet.
