ASUS Axes $4,600 RTX 5090 Order After Price Hike - tech|

A customer’s order for an ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 BTF placed through NVIDIA’s marketplace at about $4,607 after tax was canceled after ASUS refused to honor the original price.
NVIDIA confirmed the cancellation and issued a full refund; the same card’s new price rose to roughly $4,982 before tax, with a reorder estimated near $5,100 after tax.
ASUS and GIGABYTE have also raised GPU channel prices in China by around 20% versus July levels, with flagship RTX 5090D V2 models up by as much as 4,000–4,500 yuan (about $590–$666).
The increases hit the broader RTX 50 series and some AMD RX 9000 cards, and reports link the moves to climbing GDDR7 memory costs.
