RTX 5090 Hits $7K as AI Demand Takes Over - tech|
| (hx) 08:21 AM CEST - Aug,05 2026 |
Retail and third-party prices for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 have surged as high as $7,000, far above its $1,999 launch MSRP.
The spike is driven by strong demand from AI workloads that value the card’s 32 GB of high-speed GDDR7 memory.
As a result, many in the PC gaming community now view the 5090 more as a professional/AI accelerator than a mainstream gaming GPU.
Mainstream retailers currently list available stock mostly in the $4,300–$4,900 range, while some secondary-market sellers push higher.
The price inflation has also lifted used and previous-generation GPU prices by 30–40% in some segments.

Still morons will buy them because it makes them elitist and egotistical, just to say: “I bought one” | |
