Drive Anywhere on Earth in Your Browser - briefly

A new web app called Hop.Earth lets users drive virtually anywhere in the world directly in a browser. The world is generated in real time from OpenStreetMap data combined with satellite elevation data as you move. It supports free driving in single-player mode and the ability to create and share multiplayer races. Recent updates include a work-in-progress night mode, improved physics-based textures, and automatic street lights. The developer describes it as starting to feel like a mix of Need for Speed and Google Maps. The project is available now at hop.earth.
