Xbox Weighs PC Strategy Shift Amid Steam Talk - briefly

Xbox is reportedly reviewing its long-term PC strategy as part of a broader 2026 business reset.

Journalist Jez Corden noted that Microsoft’s current plans could eventually create an option to reduce reliance on Steam.

He stressed that leaving Steam remains unlikely because of the significant revenue the platform generates.

The discussion comes as Xbox continues releasing games on both Steam and its own store.

Rising hardware costs and next-generation plans are also influencing how the company approaches PC distribution.

No official decision to exit Steam has been announced.
