Disney+ Kills 4K and HDR in Europe - briefly

Disney+ has removed 4K UHD and HDR10 support across much of Europe.

Premium subscribers who paid for higher quality are now stuck with lower resolution streams.

Disney confirmed the change is due to a recent court ruling affecting the technology used to deliver 4K and HDR.

The company said it is “disappointed” and is working to restore the features, but gave no timeline.

This follows an earlier removal of Dolby Vision in June related to a patent dispute.

Many users are angry after paying extra for Premium only to lose the main benefits.
