Mini PC Built to Beat Steam Machine Turns Out Extremely Loud - tech|
| (hx) 12:01 AM CEST - Jul,28 2026 | Hardware Unboxed built a compact mini-ITX gaming PC as a faster alternative to Valve’s Steam Machine.
The small 4.5-liter system used a low-profile RTX 5060 and Ryzen 5 7500F for better 1440p performance.
While frame rates were solid with upscaling, the PC ran very hot and forced fans to extreme speeds.
Noise levels became so high that the GPU fans drowned out game audio!

People talk like Valve couldn't make a power monster, of course they could. That's not the point of the Steam Machine. |
