Huawei Reportedly Building Own DRAM Factory - tech

Reports claim Huawei is partnering with Chinese DRAM maker Swaysure and the government to build a new 12-inch wafer plant in Shenzhen.

The facility is planned to produce DRAM chips with a capacity of about 140,000 wafers per month.

Production is expected to start with a 28nm process.

The move aims to reduce China’s reliance on foreign memory suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron.

Experienced industry veterans, including a former TSMC director, have reportedly been hired for the project.

Huawei has not officially confirmed the plans.
