A security researcher discovered a malicious Steam Workshop map for the game MECCHA CHAMELEON.

The map, originally named “Laser Tag Neon,” dropped a .bat file that tried to run PowerShell and download a second payload.

The second-stage file was offline during testing, so its exact purpose remains unknown.

The map was later removed, though some players report similar items reappearing under new names.

Players who downloaded Workshop maps are advised to unsubscribe from unknown ones and run a full antivirus scan.
