Google has launched a new selfie video feature that lets users sign into their Google Account even if they forget their password or lose their usual device.
To set it up, you simply look at your camera and follow short guided head movements that capture your face from multiple angles.
When locked out later, you record a fresh selfie video that Google matches against the saved one while checking for live movements to block deepfakes.
The video is encrypted, stored only with your consent, and can be deleted anytime from your account settings.
This optional recovery method joins passkeys and recovery contacts, giving users more ways to regain access securely.
