Xbox Console Prices Skyrocket to $800 - console|

Xbox is raising the price of its current-generation consoles starting in August 2026, with the Series X 1TB jumping from $649 to $800.
The Series S 512GB will increase from $399 to $499, while the 1TB version rises from $449 to $599.
The digital-only Series X will also see a significant increase from $599 to $750.
The 2TB Series X is being discontinued entirely!
These increases are being blamed on component shortages and alleged collusion among major RAM manufacturers Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron. Gamers Nexus has detailed how these three companies dominate the DRAM market and have a history of price-fixing scandals.The move pushes console prices closer to high-end PC territory at a time when many consumers are already feeling the pinch.
