Riot Games Rolls Out On-Demand Vanguard Mode for Windows 11 Players - briefly|

Riot Games announced that Vanguard, its kernel-level anti-cheat system, will now support on-demand mode for Windows 11 players starting today.
Players can enable optional security features on their motherboard (such as virtualization-based security) to allow Vanguard to activate only when needed rather than running constantly.
This change gives users back approximately 256 pixels on their taskbar that were previously reserved or affected by Vanguard’s always-on operation.
The update was made possible through new tools from Microsoft’s Xbox OS Security Team, enabling hardware-backed security settings that support later activation in the system lifecycle.
Riot emphasized that the mode maintains strong anti-cheat protection while reducing the constant system footprint for compliant Windows 11 setups.
The company also released a detailed blog post explaining the technical requirements and benefits for players.
