An AORUS RTX 5090 owner opened their card after noticing unusually high fan speeds (~2,000 RPM) during gaming despite GPU temps staying under 76°C.
They found the factory thermal gel had migrated and pooled heavily at the top of the vapor chamber, leaving minimal coverage on the lower GPU die area.
This uneven application may contribute to hotspot issues, though no pre-disassembly hotspot data was available.
The owner plans to repaste with Honeywell PTM7950 for better stability.
