Valve has announced that starting with SteamOS 3.8, users can build their own Steam Machines using any PC hardware they want.
The update significantly improves compatibility with recent Intel and AMD platforms, making it much easier to install SteamOS on custom desktop PCs.
Previously limited mostly to AMD systems and complex installation processes, SteamOS will now deliver a Steam Deck-like experience on full-sized gaming rigs.
Valve is actively collaborating with Nvidia on driver support, though full compatibility is not expected this year.
