Intel Plans Core 200 'Raptor Lake Next' CPUs for 2027 on Old LGA-1700 Socket - tech|

Intel is set to launch its Core 200 series, internally known as "Raptor Lake Next," in early 2027 for the aging LGA-1700 socket used by both desktop and laptop platforms.
This marks the third refresh of the Raptor Lake architecture, following Alder Lake and two prior Raptor Lake generations on the same socket.
The chips will support existing LGA-1700 motherboards with both DDR5 and DDR4 memory, giving budget DDR4 systems one final upgrade path similar to AMD’s platform extensions.
Production is expected to begin in late January 2027, with qualification samples possibly available by the end of 2025.
No major architectural changes are planned — it appears to be a rebrand/refresh focused on extending platform longevity alongside newer Nova Lake chips.
