Steam Ends Physical Gift Cards at Stores Over Scammer Abuse - briefly

Steam will stop restocking physical gift cards at retail stores worldwide due to widespread scammer exploitation.

The company announced it is ending the retail program after years of trying to combat fraud through warnings, restrictions, and law enforcement cooperation.

As existing stock runs out at retailers, no new cards will be added, with all stores expected to be out of stock by the end of 2026.

Existing physical Steam Gift Cards can still be redeemed and used normally.

Digital Steam Gift Cards remain fully available for easy online gifting via email or account notification.
