Capcom has officially revealed *Resident Evil Veronica*, a full remake of the classic *Resident Evil – Code: Veronica*, during the Summer Game Fest 2026 showcase.
The game is scheduled to launch in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and other platforms, continuing Capcom’s successful run of modernizing classic titles with the RE Engine.
The announcement trailer highlights updated visuals, iconic characters like Claire Redfield, and the return of the story’s unique setting and tension that made the original Dreamcast-exclusive game a fan favorite.
This marks the latest addition to Capcom’s remake lineup, following recent successes like *Resident Evil Requiem*, and has generated massive excitement among longtime fans who have long called for a Code Veronica remake.
The project aims to bring the 2000 classic’s story — involving the Redfield siblings and Albert Wesker — to new audiences while preserving its survival horror roots.
Resident Evil: Code Veronica originally launched in 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast. It's not a mainline numbered entry in the series, but it remains beloved by fans and considered a core part of the franchise's story. Its narrative takes place around the same time as Resident Evil 3, but instead features Claire and Chris Redfield on a remote prison island and then in Antarctica. And yes, fan-favorite baddie Wesker is also involved.
