Steam Horror Game Exposed as Malware! - briefly|
| (hx) 09:43 PM CEST - May,18 2026 | A free Steam game called Beyond The Dark (App ID 3393800) turned out to be malware that steals user data like MAC addresses, browser extensions, and crypto wallets.
Security researcher Eric Parker revealed it hides a dropper in its Unity files that downloads more threats from a command server based on your installed programs.
The game, which appeared as a survival horror title, was quickly removed from Steam after the warnings spread.
