| (hx) 10:11 PM CEST - Apr,03 2026 | | Microsoft Forces Unmanaged Windows 11 24H2 Devices to Upgrade to 25H2 Microsoft is now automatically pushing unmanaged Windows 11 version 24H2 devices (Home and Pro editions) to the newer 25H2 update using machine learning to determine readiness. This final rollout phase applies only to consumer and non-IT-managed systems, as the upgrade uses a tiny enablement package under 200 KB that activates pre-installed features with just one restart. Devices left on 24H2 will soon lose all security updates, bug fixes, and technical support after its end-of-life on October 13, 2026. Microsoft advises users to accept the upgrade promptly via Windows Update to stay protected. The process is designed to be seamless, as both versions share the same core operating system.
