Hardware Unboxed's latest review highlights Intel's new Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, an 8-core CPU priced at $300 that features boosted clocks, better memory support, and improved scheduling. In productivity benchmarks, it significantly outperforms the Ryzen 7 9700X and even edges past the previous-gen Core i9-14900K in multi-threaded tasks while using less power. Gaming tests across 14 titles show it delivering performance similar to the 14900K and beating the 9700X by an average of 3%, with stronger 1% lows in several demanding games. However, it falls short of the more efficient Ryzen 7 7800X3D in power draw and platform longevity.
